Sammy Lerma III, MD
Sammy Lerma III, MD, grew up in Eagle Pass, Texas. He earned his bachelor of arts in biology at The University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his family practice residency at Memorial Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. Dr. Lerma worked in the fields of minor emergency medicine and family medicine in Corpus Christi and Eagle Pass, Texas, before moving his private family medicine practice to Bastrop County in 2004. Dr. Lerma’s goal is to improve the quality of life for the families we serve to build stronger communities.
Janelle House, DO
Dr. Janelle K. House, DO, received her bachelor of science degree from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. She then attended the College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri, where she earned her doctor of osteopathic medicine. She completed her internship at the Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas, and completed her residency and fellowship training at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Dr. House is board certified in family practice as well as in osteopathic manipulative treatment and geriatric medicine. She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Bell County Medical Association, Texas Geriatric Society, American Medical Directors Association, and American Academy of Family Physicians. She has been practicing medicine for more than 20 years.
Augustin R. Batlle, MD
Dr. Augustin R. Batlle is an internist in Bastrop, Texas. He has been board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine since 1998. He graduated from University of Minnesota - Minneapolis Medical School in 1992. He then completed two years of training in family medicine and two years in internal medicine at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin. He has been practicing medicine since 1992.
Dr. Batlle was born in New York City to a Mexican-American mother from Texas and a father from Spain. He grew up overseas as a "missionary kid," and graduated from high school in East Africa. Dr. Batlle now lives in Gonzales, Texas, just down the road from where his mom was born. In his spare time, Dr. Batlle enjoys a variety of fitness activities.
William McBroom, MD
Dr. William Michael McBroom is a family medicine specialist in La Grange, Texas. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1976. He has more than 44 years of diverse professional experience in family medicine.
Rajeev Gupta, MD

Dr. Rajeev Gupta is board certified in internal medicine. He attended the University of Delhi in India, where he received both his bachelor of medicine and surgery and master's in orthopedic surgery. After coming to the United States, Dr. Gupta completed his residency in internal medicine at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Gupta has been a practicing doctor in Bastrop since 1996. He has a special interest in cardiovascular medicine as well as bone and joint diseases. His ultimate goal is to practice with the utmost compassion and integrity while providing high-quality medical care to patients. When not in the office, Dr. Gupta enjoys playing golf, tennis, listening to music, and spending as much time as possible with his children and family.
Lauren Ferraro, GNP-BC
Lauren is a board-certified gerontology primary care nurse practitioner. She earned her bachelor of science in nursing from D.Youville College in Buffalo, New York, in 1999, graduating at the top of her class. In 2002, she moved to Austin, Texas, and worked with the management team of an Austin-based, family-owned long-term care facility for 12 years. During this time, she received her master of science in nursing at The University of Texas Medical Branch in 2009 with a specialty in geriatrics. She won awards for excellence in nursing and was honored with the experience of being a mentor to colleagues throughout her education.
Lauren's expertise and focus is on the elderly population, who are a wonderful and challenging population to care for. She provides holistic care for her patients, which includes taking into account their physical, emotional, and psychological wellness.
James Kim FNP-BC
James Kim is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. He originally attended the University of Houston, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. James then pursued his career in nursing, graduating with honors from Midwestern State University with a bachelor of science in nursing. While working in the cardiology and intensive care unit at a hospital, he completed his master of science in nursing with a specialty as a family nurse practitioner at the University of Texas-Arlington.
He is passionate about preventive care and maintaining healthy communities. His goal is to partner with patients to create a plan to optimize their health. In his spare time, James enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time outdoors with his family.
